The CODIP® Process Improver is a carbon dioxide (CO2 ) application which has been developed primarily for newsprint production, using deinked pulp as raw material. The application is developed and patented by Linde together with the cooperation partner UPM-Kymmene. It was launched at the end of 1998 and is presently in use at a number of large paper mills.
The CODIP Process Improver interacts with components present in the system to stabilise process fluctuation due to the raw material, the bleaching method, the paper chemical additives, etc
Some of the benefits include:
- Increased paper machine runnability
- Increased DIP yield as a form of calcium carbonate
- Stabilised pH profile.
